Pioneer Park – The historical theme park

Pioneer Park was named as a historical theme park in Alaska because it was built in 1967. The park is old and has significance in the Alaska history. Pioneer Park was also known as Alaskaland before, but then they renewed it to Pioneer Park to erase the impression of the people that it’s more like Disneyland. The park has museums, restaurants, arts in the park, shops and many more attractions. Family, friends, and lovers will surely enjoy their stay here in this tour spot.

Attractions:

• Alaska Native Museum – Is a museum inside the park that exhibits many things in early Alaska period. Eskimo suit, pictures, and structures are basically the things that can be seen there.
• Red & Roela’s Carousel – Kids will truly enjoy riding this old fashioned carousel. There are a lot of modern carousel nowadays but it’s good to see that there are still old ones that until now is working.
• Riverboat Nenana – Learn how the great riverboats helped in building this large boat inside the Pioneer Park. This boat is now a museum that exhbits historical things and events in Alaska.
• Crooked Creek and Whiskey Island Railroad – Is a narrow gauge train that goes around the park. Kids and parents will surely enjoy riding here and touring the whole Pioneer Park.
